This course will provide an overview of the personnel issues that challenge today’s fire service leaders. Topics will include labor relations, human rights, diversity, conflicts of interest and ethical decision making.

This course meets or exceeds the requirements of NFPA 1021, “Standard for Fire Officer Professional Qualifications,” (2014 Edition), NFPA 1037, “Standard for Professional Qualifications for Fire Marshal,” (2016 Edition), and Rules 69A-39.005, and 69A-37.065(2)(d), Florida Administrative Code.

This course examines the challenges faced by fire officers, fire marshals and inspectors who are charged with managing personnel as well as the corresponding laws and best practices.
